PROGRAM: The Eye of the Eagle Shamanic Healer Training
is an intensive shamanic training program for anyone interested in studying and
practicing advanced shamanic methods and healing practices. It is an extensive
and in-depth program that requires a commitment to personal practice outside of
class in order to strengthen and deepen the student’s relationship with helping
spirits, which is the fundamental basis for any shamanic work.
This training program will teach you classic shamanic
healing methods such as: extraction, power animal retrieval,
soul retrieval, depossession, psychopomp (helping the souls of those who have died cross over), word and song doctoring,
sound healing, long distance healing, healing with Spiritual Light, healing
with plant and elemental spirits, karmic clearing, and working with star beings
and cosmic rays of healing energy.
Students will participate in group ritual and initiation
work focused on preparing you to be a clear vessel and channel (what shamans
call “a hollow bone”) for Divine Light and Love to flow through. Emphasis will
be on working with the guidance of spirit guides in all diagnostic and
exploratory work.
Shamanism is a way of looking at the world with the belief
that all of life has spirit and there exists spirit helpers, guides and
partners who wish to help all living beings. These spirit guides are also the
intermediaries between living beings and the Creator. While it is possible to
connect directly with the Creator, spirit guides are highly valuable to give us humans direct and detailed guidance and help with our
lives and our soul’s journey.
SHAMANIC JOURNEYING:
For
many centuries shamans around the world have practiced certain techniques to
communicate with the Divine and with helping spirits to access wisdom,
knowledge, healing and assistance for themselves and their communities. Shamans
have also worked with nature spirits, ancestors, the elements, devas, angels and celestial and divine star beings to live
in harmony with the earth and to help the earth and its inhabitants stay in
balance.
The shamanic journey is central to
the process of communicating with spirits and is most often facilitated by the
use of drumming and rattling. Shamanic journeying allows the shaman to travel
to non-ordinary reality (the spirit realm) to meet and work with helping
spirits and spirit guides of many different kinds.
REQUIRED PREREQUISITE:
Participants in this program must have some knowledge of
shamanic journeying prior to enrollment. You do not have to be proficient in
journeying, but you must already have had at least some basic instruction. You
can attend a workshop in shamanic journeying taught by Leontine Hartzell in March or June, 2010 or taught by another
qualified teacher. If unable to take a class in journeying,
you are required to read and practice journeying from
Sandra Ingerman’s book: “Shamanic Journeying: A
Beginner’s Guide” prior to the first class. If you already have some experience with journeying, it is recommended
that you read Ingerman’s book as well.
PERSONAL HEALING WORK:
While enrolled in the Eye of the Eagle Shamanic Healer
Training it is strongly recommended that you receive regular shamanic or energy
healing treatments of some kind from a qualified practitioner. While students
will do healing work on each other in class on a regular basis as part of the
training, students are urged to receive healing treatments from a skilled
healer outside of class to facilitate your own personal growth and healing
while undergoing shamanic training. The process of becoming a healer and
shamanic practitioner requires that one work through karmic issues and
emotional, energetic and psychological blocks in order to be able to connect
and work in partnership directly with higher and higher levels of spirit
helpers and guides. The shamanic training process is a process of
transformation and you will be best served by arranging to have support during
this process. Leontine sees students for private
sessions outside of class as well as can provide a list of recommended
practitioners.
RECOMMENDED READING:
It is highly recommended that you read several of the
following books about core shamanism and shamanic practices to prepare for, and
while enrolled in, the Eye of the Eagle Shamanic Healer Training:
The Way of the Shaman,
Michael Harner
Shamanism as a Spiritual
Practice for Daily Life, Tom Cowan
Soul Retrieval, Sandra Ingerman
Medicine for the Earth,
Sandra Ingerman
Shamanic Voices, Joan Halifax
There are many other excellent
books about shamanism and different shamanic practices. Please read at least 2-4 others of
your selection.
GOAL OF THE SHAMANIC HEALER
TRAINING:
This program trains people to learn how to be spiritual
healers and community spiritual leaders. Whether you will work on individuals
doing healing work, conduct ceremonies and rituals, work privately with the
spirits of the earth, or focus on enriching your own spiritual practices, this
program will give you a wide basis of knowledge and practice to work with
helping spirits of many kinds for healing, balance and harmony.
In these accelerating changing times on planet earth,
more and more people are awakening to their true spiritual natures and their
soul callings to be more connected to spiritual energies. By committing to
expanding your spiritual practice and knowledge you can take responsibility for
your true place in your family and community to reveal and utilize your true
soul’s gifts in this lifetime.
By participating in this program you will also be
welcomed into a growing spiritual community of shamanic practitioners who gather periodically for ritual and ceremony
as well as more advanced learning. Our goal is to join together to create
strong circles of light for the creation of love, light, balance to elevate our
vibrations in alignment with pure Light.
